The template language

These documentation pages are no longer maintained. Please visit the new documentation site.

This chapter presents an introduction to the eZ publish template language. It should be reviewed by people who are not familiar with writing templates but wish to learn.

The template language is a powerful, yet easy to use solution (once learned) that makes it possible to communicate with eZ publish from within (X)HTML code.

Re: Great!!

Hey,

Thanks for the feedback! :-) Yeah, we're planning to make a chapter out of this one, which I guess we'll call "The Template Language" or something. It is based on the old/short "template languge" intro that was present in the SDK. I've beefed it up & added a lot of extra content. However, it isn't 100% done yet, that's why it is not available directly from the doc page. We'll add the missing stuff and make sure it appears on the list as soon as the eZ time machine is finished. I think Bård and Jan are working on such a device during the weekends (a device that simply creates time :-).

GREAT !!

This is exactly what's been missing for new people to ezPublish. I've been strugling trying to get to grips with the language. If the whole chapter was complete it would make life much easier. My only suggestion is to have a link from the documentation page to this chapter. It is not there, so new people will not find it easily. I only found it by chance.

Keep up the good work. I am already looking forward to this chapter expanding.
